Nu Epsilon Cabinet

The Phi Gamma Delta fraternity is a group of dedicated individuals who all willing go to great lengths to reach the golden standard of this fraternity. Each year individuals rise and take it upon themselves to accomplish the fraternity's goals as well as try to reach new heights. Democratically elected officers are chosen for their skills, and their ability to lead, perform tasks, and represent the fraternity during events both domestic and international. Below are the current members of the fraternity who were elected as officers, together they represent the Cabinet of the Nu Epsilon chapter of Phi Gamma Delta.

Chapter President: Alon Soran

President

Hello, my name is Alon Soran. I was born in Israel but I was raised in Newton, Massachusetts. I was originally enrolled at NYU: Poly, majoring in mechanical engineering, but soon found that my tastes had shifted to finance. I then enrolled at the College of Arts and Sciences here at NYU, with a major in economics and a minor in the business of entertainment, media, and technology. I joined FIJI during my fall semester of my freshman year, and have never looked back. I cannot stress enough how much of a positive impact FIJI has had on my life. Since joining, I have developed both as a university student and as a person.  My best advice to young men looking for a real college experience at a university as non-traditional as NYU is to find a group like Fiji where you find an immediate connection with the brothers, and find in them qualities you would be proud to instill in yourself. Over time, the bond of brotherhood created will give you the opportunity to be the best man you can hope to be, and your newfound brothers will help you on your way. The friendships and experiences you make will be you for the rest of your life, proving that Phi Gamma Delta truly is “Not for college days alone.”

" I encourage you to spend time browsing our website, and see what the Nu Epsilon chapter of Phi Gamma Delta can offer you."

Chapter Treasurer: Anuj Bapodra

Hello, my name is Anuj Bapodra. I've been a New Yorker all my life: I was born in Albany, New York, but was raised in Newburgh, New York. I am a sophomore in the College of Arts and Sciences at NYU, with a major in biochemistry and minors in both mathematics and molecular and cell biology. I rushed Fiji in the spring semester my freshman year and immediately knew that I found a brotherhood that I could relate to. I was inspired by the close knit nature of the fraternity and how each brother in Fiji contributed towards the excellence of not only themselves but also to the betterment of the NYU community. Currently, I am the treasurer and philanthropy chair for our chapter, as well as the treasurer for the Interfraternity Council for NYU. I definitely encourage those interested to meet our brothers, and have a first hand account of one the most traditional brotherhoods in the nation.

"Phi Gamma  has given me the confidence i need to succeed in any environment i get thrown into"

Chapter's Recording Secretary: Timothy Rice

Recording Secretary Hey, my name is Tim Rice and I was born and raised in Williamsburg, Virginia. I am currently a mechanical engineering major at NYU-Poly, class of 2014. I joined FIJI spring semester of my freshman year and to this day it has been one of the best decisions I've made in college and also in my life. In the fall of 2011, I was the new member educator and I am the current recording secretary for our chapter. Beyond the fun of being around people who truly define the word "brother", FIJI has helped me make better connections both on campus and outside of school. Events like the annual trip to St. Louis for FIJI Academy rank among the best times I've had since I've come to NYU, and in fact most of the great memories I've made so far can be attributed to something FIJI related. I strongly encourage anyone interested to join one of the strongest and most tradition-oriented brotherhoods in the country and I promise that you will not regret your decision.

"The duration of my undergraduate career has shown me that there is nothing better than being a Phi Gam."

Chapter's Corresponding Secretary: Neil Bapodra

My name is Neil Bapodra, and I am a Biochemistry major and Economics minor in CAS. I am born and raised in New York and would have to say that I resemble a prototypical New Yorker. I’m a huge Yankees and Giants fan, and I love to hate the Red Sox. Joining Phi Gamma Delta is probably one of the most important and most valuable decisions that I have and will make in my time at NYU. In the spring semester of my freshman year I decided to rush FIJI and immediately knew that this is where I belonged. Throughout my time in FIJI I have seen our chapter grow, both in numbers and in unity. I can truly say that Phi Gamma Delta is the centerfold of my college experience. The connection I have with my brothers has allowed me to gain a better understanding of both my academic and social lives here at NYU.  FIJI has opened doors and opportunities that I could not have previously imagined. Whether it’s an opportunity to work in a research lab, or a simple chance to become active on campus, FIJI never disappoints. The family that I have gained at NYU through FIJI is something that I will cherish all my life.

Historian – Murtaza Fatehi

Hello, my name is Murtaza Fatehi but everyone on campus knows me as Taz. Although i was born in India, I have spent most of my life on Long Island, NY. I am currently studying at NYU Poly and major in mechanical engineering with a minor in technologies management. After joining Fiji during the spring semester of my freshmen year, i knew right then and there that i had made the right choice. The opportunities and connections i have made through Fiji are remarkable. In fact i can truly say that my brothers have had one of, if not the biggest impact on my college career. I encourage everyone to gain the experience, I have because it truly does contribute to success. You will not regret it.

"The friendships, experience, and knowledge that I have gained as a brother is something that I can never replace."
